The AfterSport Group conducts on-campus workshops geared towards preparing student-athletes for successful performance beyond the arena.  The workshops focus on subjects such as career mapping, interviewing, business etiquette and networking.  The presentations are very interactive which provide students with the opportunity to learn from each other in addition to the presenters. 

The immediate impact of this method is that the students can use these tools and techniques during on campus events (formal and informal) as well as to begin building networks that will be vital to them throughout their careers.  The future impact is that the same tools and techniques can be used during future interviews, business networking and career progression.

Each student is different and has his/her own individual developmental needs.  Therefore, the AfterSport Group offers individual consultations (in-person or over the phone) for those who would like additional detail related to the topics related to career development.  The direction of the meeting is determined by the student, who will have the option to discuss a variety of topics related to career development.  Additionally, students that take advantage of this service may have the opportunity to speak directly with someone in their area of career or graduate school interest.
